Haynard Ltd was founded in 2009 by Dr Julie Winnard CEnv. She has worked as a sustainability consultant since 2010 both freelance and within teams, spcialising in carbon emissions footprinting, reporting and reductions. She was a senior engineer and project manager prior to this, mostly in the automotive & rail industries, and has always been keen to manage the enviromental and scoial impacts of business and industry. In 2015 she finished an Industrial Doctorate in Sustainability for Engineering and Energy Systems with the University of Surrey and Ford Motor Company. As part of this she has published 3 journal papers (on how sustainability can be integrated into strategy decisions, developing the SuReSDSTM approach and testing it in 5 real-world projects successfully 2014-2018). She also writes posts and articles on varied topics within sustainability for individuals and organisations in forums such as LinkedIn. She has previously provided research and advice on green vehicles and fleets, and helped develop best practice. She also has a creative textiles and upcycling sideline, and helped assemble a response from the upcycling community to the Parliamentary Committee on Fashion Waste (which resulted in the report Fixing Fashion: Clothing Consumption and Sustainability, Feb 2019).

Currently Dr Winnard and her network of associates work to support clients with sustainability projects from research to implementing emissions reductions plans, as well as with improving their impacts through circular economy business models, waste reduction and improving their staff skills in sustainability.
